[…] Taliotis’ Werke sind fotografische Tableaux vivants oder großformatige Installationen, die die Atmoshäre des jeweiligen Filmgenres vollständig zu erfassen suchen, indem sie dessen grundlegenden Charakteristika in sich vereinen. Casting Modernist Architecture beschäftigt sich mit den Beziehungen zwischen Film und der Architektur der Moderne. Schon früh spielte die architektonische Moderne eine Art Schlüsselrolle […] und modernistische Gebäude entwickelten sich im Laufe der Zeit im Film zu Indikatoren für den (bevorstehenden) Auftritt des ‘Bösen’. Intension ist die atmosphärische ‘shifts’ erfahrbar zu machen. Den Besuchern eröffnet sich beim Durchschreiten der Arbeit eine räumliche Narration, hervorgerufen durch ein imaginäres Filmset. Constantinos Taliotis researches the special features of particular film genres, e. g. ganster and espionage films, film noir and science fiction […].Taliotis’ works are photographic tableaux vivants or large scale installations, which attempt to capture the atmosphere of the respective film genre by uniting ist basic characteristics within themselves. Casting Modernist Architecture examines the relations between cinema and Modernist architecture. Architectural Modernism already played a key role […] and Modernist buildings in film developed over the course of time into indicators of an (approaching) apperance of ‚evil’. The intension is to experience atmospheric shifts. As visitors pass through this absolute installation, they are absorbed in a spatial narrative that unravels in front of them as though on the set of an imaginary film.
