WOLKE

Die Wolke ist eine Skulptur für den Messeauftritt der Firma Kinnarps. Sie ist Raumskulptur, Lichtobjekt und Lounge-Überdachung zugleich. Die Wolke ist ein eigenständiges Tragwerk bestehend aus 2.600 Metern Holzlatten. Die Last- abtragung erfolgt über drei in der Wolke eingespannte Stützen- gruppen. Das Tragwerk und das Prinzip der Formgebung wurden am Modell entwickelt. Die endgültige Form und Struktur der Wolke entstand während des Bau- prozesses.

The “Wolke” (cloud) is a sculpture which represented the Kinnarps Company at the OrgaTec 2010 trade fair. It simultaneously serves as spatial sculpture, light object and lounge roof-covering. The Wolke is a free-standing structure consisting of 2.600 metres of wooden slats. Loads are transferred via three groups of supporting columns, which are fixed into the sculpture. The load-bearing structure and the form were developed through modelling. The ultimate shape and structure of the skulpture emerged through the construction process.
